UPDATE  OCT 11, 2005

** in the Oct/Nov 2005 issue of BUST magazine they featured Vesper sock yarn in their favorites section!  the section is called "booty call"

** i got a call from Debbie, she asked me to quickly knit a sock and ship it out that night via FedEx overnight... i only got to turn the heel before the FedEx man showed up, i had like 3 hours to knit it... 

so once i got it back in the mail from BUST i had to finish it... it took me a long weekend, which seemed pretty fast for me... and on top of the Aqua Melon sock is the midnight knitter one i did a while ago... 

we also ran an ad in this issue...

** i'm almost to the toe!  i love love love my new socks, my first pair of hand knitted socks... yippee!

** when we added 10 skeins of this hand dyed yarn to knit pixie, it all sold out but one lonely skein in 2 days... here's the one that's left  click here

** i'm kidding right... nope!  besides a tiny baby sock that i knit a long time ago, which doesn't count because of the construction of it, I DON'T KNIT SOCKS!  you know that by now though...

BUT, this came in to knit pixie...

** what is it?!  a skein of sock yarn, hand dyed by "Knitterly Things" just for me!!  she took some of my favorite colors and created a self-striping sock yarn for me... eek!!  it's called "Midnight Knitter" and it's 100% Merino, 440yds, and the name is "Vesper Sock Yarn"... i'm in love... 

** so... it came in last week, i wound the skein into a center pull ball, and started knitting a sock that very night!  i found a Dutch sock pattern, if i'm gonna knit a sock because a yarn "turned me on" it might as well be a Dutch pattern, my Oma is Dutch, it just seemed like the right thing to do...   ;-)

** the above photo is the most accurate color representation... how cool is that?!

** the heel is a "Dutch Heel Flap", working across row 1 with *k1, slip 1* and then the next row is purl across...  i cant wait to see how the foot turns out!
