July 28

** well, i got back from vacation last weekend... we had such an awesome time!  lots of relaxing, fishing, tubing behind a power boat, eating great food, and good sleep.... here's a few photos

** during the car ride home i had some random balls of yarn in my bag, here's a little test knit with Debbie Bliss Wool Cotton...

** the "cable love" mini scarf is as long as my arm now!!  take a peek at the progress...

**  a couple weeks ago i sat down with some crappy acrylic yarn to practice my fairisle skills... its really not the right project for fairisle, halfway thru i figured that intarsia would have been a better technique... but here's what i made... looks kinda like an atari symbol, eh?

**  i've been SO busy all week with work... updating The Knitting Garden, converting videos to stream on the web for another client, installing message boards and mailing lists, updating another clients site (she's a jazz singer) to add her photos from a trip to The Republic of Georgia, and more!  thats what happens when you take a week off, swamped when you get back... but its not so bad, the vacation was so great and i really do enjoy web design work...

**  are you ready to preview the new Rowan magazines?!?!  click here

** i got some Cherry Tree Hill yarn for a winter hat in one of the Vogue mags... but i'm considering designing something else with it...

**  if you dont follow Jenifleur over at JenLa, you should go there today and read her Mixed Bag of Bitch post for July 16th, its so hilarious and i'm in the mood today for some stories.. oh, and her progress on the Renaissance Tunic is awesome...

**  i'm a bit uninspired lately with knitting and crochet creations, so i think i'm gonna bring a pattern with me on vacation, but which one?!?!... hopefully the relaxation of vacation will kick start me back into creativity... but i'll have a pattern to follow as a backup  ;-)

i saw this years ago and came across it again... i used to have it in a frame i thought it was so funny...

anyways...

A BUNCH OF SMALL THINGS

**  i was watching Bravo (i think) and there was a live show of Gwen Stefani and her band, and i realized she's the reincarnation of Cher for the new millenium... but not as talented, but just as creepy...

** my CrochetMe submission will be published soon, yippee!!  i had a real hard time writing my bio for the submission... and i finished my Stitch Diva poncho, photos coming very soon...

** there's a cool crochet shawl and hat here ... go to the July 02 entry on sequink for a cool idea on working lace... never thought of that, sweet!...

** i need to have this

i'm such a sucker for dumb hello ktty things... if only i could collect really small items, like pieces of lint, maybe i could live in less clutter  ;-)

** i'm going to Rangely Maine next week!  my parents rent a huge house on the lake and most of the family comes up at some point.. gonna be a good time, jetskis, a boat, lounging on the porch... yay for vacation!

July 07

**  WHAT?  brand new Noro Kureyon shades? yup!  i didnt even know they were working on that, i kinda figured "jeez, they sell enough Kureyon to all have mansions, why produce new colors"... but i was wrong, click the photo below to see the 5 new shades...  pretty sweet eh?!

** yarn goes up in flames, along with size 0 needles.... guess what... i always keep a small knitting project in the glove box of my boyfriends car... he was driving home last night and the car went up in flames!!!  its a total loss... we lost a beautiful station wagon and one of my new little knitting projects, but he got out of the car in time so i'm counting my blessings, and i'm buying new size 0 needles and some hand painted laceweight yarn, hehe...

July 02

** todays post is dedicated to the Stitch Diva Mini Poncho crochet along ... i FINALLY found the right yarn for me!  and i'm loving working with it...

** one of my new fav blogs ->
i've been reading for the past month or so, she's got some great photos!!

** i went to dunkin donuts this morning and a woman ordered a medium iced coffee with extra extra extra cream and 8 sugars  !!!!!  what the heck?!  i asked the dunkin girl how many people order coffee like that and she said "you wouldnt believe it if i told you"... whats the point of getting a coffee when you're adulterating it like that?  weird...
** knitting updates: i'm working on the flower power crochet along, trying to choose the right yarn... and i'm making a Chihuahua sized dog sweater in pink yarn, fun fun!  i'm also just starting the alien scarf to try out illusion knitting, but its hard to knit a scarf in the summer....

AND i did a test swatch on US 3 and US 7 needles with this very thin noro yarn... cool huh?!

** more new buttons that i made for other bloggers can be found here... this one is great, you can see all the knit-alongs that are going on   ----->

we're dog sitting for our friends pup, felix
the corgi... they are so funny together,
here's a photo of felix, and josie is
peeking around the corner to tease him
with her new bone... let the games begin!
