(or use any bulky yarn)

needles: US 11

sts= stitches
st st = k on RS, p on WS
k = knit
p = purl
k2tog = knit two together
p2tog = purl two together

tip: Make a liner out of an old pair of jeans. Leave the back pockets of the jeans accessible inside the bag, you now have a pocket for small items!

INSTRUCTIONS

FRONT
- cast on 18 sts
- work 16 rows St st
(or more rows for longer bag)
- next (RS) row: K1, K2tog, K12, K2tog, K1
- next row: P across
- next row: K1, K2 tog, K10, K2tog, K1
- next row: P across
- next row: K1, K2 tog, K8, K2tog, K1
- next row: P1, P2tog, P6, P2tog, P1
- next row: K1, K2 tog, K4, K2tog, K1
- bind off (8 sts remaining)

BACK
- work as for front

STRAP
- cast on 4 sts, work in St st for desired length. 

FINISHING
- with front panel and strap: right sides facing and wrong sides together, work sc (along finished outside edge) through both pieces to join.

- back panel: do the same for the other panel, matching it to the same sts on strap as for front panel.
